There is no thing as a 48 hour shift pattern in security?

holiday patterns

I work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. This is 42 hours over a 17 week period as the standard way our hours are fixed. If you have to work 48 hours you need to add 24 days a year which is what i have to do. this means you need to cover the teams holidays to meet the 48 hour payment made to you. this is fine but next year if you work 4 on 4 off you are only entitled to 22 days holiday. This leaves you short. Does anyone have a solution. Just another note British Business never mentions that if you change to 48 hours your wages stay the same.
