I have a friend who REALLY likes trains, and I am thinking of making him a model train out of plastic canvas for his birthday in June. Of course something like that would take some time, so I have already started thinking, planning, and trying to find a pattern so I can get started on it.

The big problem is that I can’t find a pattern. All the trains I have found are either a Christmas or other holiday pattern (not appropriate since this is going to be in summer), a cutout, something for a little kid or baby (he’s an adult around my age), or a pattern of a train on something else like a tissue box cover. I also know that I wouldn’t be able to create a pattern myself for this kind of thing. I want it to be 3-D, and I have only done square and rectangular 3-D things before, so I feel like I need some kind of base pattern that I can then modify if necessary. The problem is that there isn’t any!

At least I haven’t found any. I was hoping that somebody on here might know where I could find one and post a link. If you have a book and it has a pattern that would fit the description of what I’m looking for, could you maybe scan it and then attach it to this thread? Or you could tell me you have one and we’ll work something out.

I really appreciate any help anybody can give me with this.
