I have 2 kids with my first husband, and we generally have a fairly good relationship when it comes to him having access to the kids. However, he is really starting to act very entitled and it is getting on my last nerve. First of all, he does not pay a cent of support for the kids, and hasnt for over 2 years. He doesnt work, and has no desire to, he just mooches of his girlfriend, who only works a few days a week at most herself. I havent stopped allowing him to see the kids, because i know that they do want to see him, and I am fine with that. But he now seems to have it in his head that he is going to benefit from me paying for everything. For example, tonight, when i was picking them up (he also has no car, and myself, or my husband do ALL pick ups and drop offs) the kids were telling him that we had chosen the patterns for their halloween costumes that we are making this year (I am a sewing enthusiast, and make most of their clothes, my clothes, costumes, and diapers for my 1 year old, no, its not because i cant afford to buy clothes, making them is actually much more expensive, lol) he started going on about trick or treating with them. Halloween is on a sunday this year, and it is a weekend they would be at his house, and due to come home after dinner. For one thing, I am not at all comfortable with his neighborhood, he lives in a very bad, crime-ridden, drug filled area. For another thing, I work 6-7 days a week, and I pay for EVERYTHING, and I am tired of him thinking that i am going to pay for it all, and be the one to make an effort, and then just hand it over to him. I know its only halloween, and its not a major holiday, but it is still my time to be with my kids, especially if it is my time and money that has been spent. I have paid for every birthday party, school supplies, vacation, extra-curricular activity, clothing, food, vehicle, and home they have ever had. How would you make it clear to someone like this that you are already doing them a favor, by not revoking visitation, and that anything extra is at your discretion?
