SPIDERRRRS IN MY HOUSE AND ROOM?

holiday patterns
Babylove asked:

I KEEP getting spiders in my house especially the kitchen, bathroom, front room and my bedroom where there is a vent. I find like 3 in my house everyday and they’re big ones! Its not one specific type of spider. Sometimes i get HUGE ones like the size of my hand (with legs) that are black and visable on a wall etc, But sometimes i get BIG ones that are see-through and camouflage into the wall paper etc. And sometimes they are black with light brown patterns/stripes on (fury looking).
Last week i found a HUGE black one on my wall in my bedroom and a fury looking one on my ceiling! Ever since I’ve been sleeping on the sofa, as they disappeared and I couldn’t find them in my room.
Tonight i come down to the front room to sleep and found one of the camouflage-types on the wall. I’ve killed it but now i can’t sleep!

Does anyone think these types of spiders may be dangerous/poisonous?? They tend to come out in the coldest parts or winter and during summer from like July-September.

A few years ago I went to Florida and then straight to Miami on holiday, there was a HUGE spider near the pool that was fury and looked like a baby triangular it could even swim! When we come back there was a spider in our suitcase. Ever since we’ve had a massive spider problem!!

Spiders the size of your hand??

I’d be screaming like a little girl. Don’t spread that around. Where do you live?

They like you, at least they did, until you killed that one, now…..well let’s just say I’m glad I’m not you.

Unless you are the size of a Barbie doll, no spider the size of your hand should be able to hide in the pattern in the wallpaper!
You need to move out of the Twilight Zone before it is too late.

Maybe you need to call out an exterminator. Who knows, maybe the one/ones that hitched a ride back from Miami with you cross bred with normal house spiders….NOT GOOD @ ALL

I’m huge Arachnaphobic – my solution is use Polyfillers and Sealants to block obvious holes and fill ‘hidy-holes’ and to use Raid spray, it really helps and I rarely see spiders anymore.

Also remember that spiders are attracted by flies and other bugs as they eat them – so make sure you empty bins regularly so they don’t attract flies.

If you genuinely think that you brought a spider home and it may have bred/laid eggs then i’d look up a pestcontrol service and ask them for some advice.

Bug spray site; (can buy it in most supermarkets).

    Polyfiller / Sealants can be found in DIY stores (homebase, B&Q, some supermarkets) – Here’s a site to show you what I mean;

    Hope this helps!

If I was you and you are getting so many I would definately seek professional help. when you found the spider in your suitcase did you kill it or did it run off. I hope it didnt run off as it could have laid eggs and this could well be your problem.

I have had a spider the size of my hand before in my bedroom, it was called a harvest spider, google harvest spiders and see if it gives you any advice, we dont live in the country either we live in a large town. The larger the harvest spider – this normally means its female. They can be either black or a brown colour. I know its horrible to look at but if you google harvest spiders on the images side look at them and see if they are the same, then at least you may be able to stop worrying.

i **** spiders too! there is this stuff called ’spider away’ you can buy it in pound shops etc. you spray it around the windows and doors and anywhere else they may be getting in, they **** the smell of it and it stops them coming in. I use it and i think its great although the smell is horrible, it smells of cloves. its really good, i recommend you try that and if you cant find the actual spray in a shop just buy some clove oil and dilute it and do the same thing!!

Some stuff sold in betterware called spider stop. I think you spray it around doors, windows or vents (where ever you need to) Don’t know whether it’s any good or not though. My cat used to eat spiders!

Oh dear – that’s the cause of the spider problem.
The spider in your suitcase laid eggs on your clothes and belongings, and they have hatched into the spiders in your house, which must have multiplied, and… you get the picture.
CALL AN EXTERMINATOR. I’m serious, call one or some sort of pest control person. They’ll hopefully deal with it.
To prevent spiders coming into the house, put a conker (the kind that falls off trees in the autumn) in the corner of each room in the house. They **** the smell of the harmless chemicals the conker gives off, so they won’t come into the house. I don’t think humans can smell them.
I hope this helps. I reallllyy hope this helps.
