Quickest way to get back to normal sleeping pattern?

holiday patterns
Goal: -6 by 0209 asked:

All holidays I have been sleeping at 2-3am and waking at 12-1pm. I wanna be awake by 9am at least, and I need to be awake at 7am for school. Is is a good idea to stay up all night tonight and go to bed at 9pm the next day? Will this kick my sleeping patterns into shape the fastest? I also need to remain awake to do lots of homework!

This will work, but you’ll just be even tireder and more messed up. Try getting up 20 minutes earlier each day for a week, and slowly resetting your body clock that way. Make sure you go to bed earlier, too. You can take melatonin to help you fall asleep. It’s not a sleeping drug, just a hormone that your body makes at bedtime.

Just exhaust yourself, I find that’s the best trick when I’m having trouble falling asleep

Really knock yourself out, exercise, do a lot of housework, etc…
To the point where you just collapse into bed at night.

Maybe you should try forcing yourself to wake up at 9am and take a shower to help. Trying to fall asleep at 9pm will be hard if you aren’t sleepy.

well, i have the same problem. im 15 and will be in 10th grd btw
anyway, say five days before the first day of school, i wake up at like 8:00 or earlier. i’m tired that night by 9:30 or 10 and i make sure my parents don’t let me sleep in past 8:30 or 9. that way, i’m more tired the next few nights and i’m not going to bed all late and waking up at 1. when it comes time to go to bed fairly early for school, i’m able to go to sleep at 10!
