I AM HAVING BAD SLEEPING PROBLEMS?

ever since school holidays started my sleeping patterns have been out of whack. On regular basis, i have always had sleeping problems, i am also a light sleeper. Right now, i have been having bad dreams and also going to bed around 10 or 11 and wakig up at around 3 and can’t get back to sleep. I get really rundown and tired, please help i am only 13 by the way.

    help is on the way.
    first you have to get your sleep cycle back on track. adolescents typically have sleep problems so it is important to try to be regular.

    every cycle lasts about 90 minutes. so if you need to get up at 6 a.m. you should be falling asleep around midnight or 10:30.

    one thing that gets in the way is that your mind might be racing at that time, so draw up a strict timetable:

    don’t eat after 7 pm., so that your digestion of dinner is done
    don’t drink after 8 p.m., so that you won’t have to get up in the night
    turn off tv and computer at least one hour before you go to bed, so that your mind has an opportunity to calm down
    develop a bedtime routine, such as washing, brushing etc., always at about the same time, so that these further calm you down.
    use your bedroom for sleeping only, if that is possible.

    DO NOT do homework on your bed. you want to train yourself to associate the bed with sleeping.

    the first week will be difficult but as you persist you will find that you become accustome to it. you might find yourself waking on your own. at this point you may also find that your cycle is a little bit longer or shorter, so adjust accordingly.

    it will work, you will see.

    I have the same sleeping problems for I can sleep 4 hours a day for months and I could stay awake as long as 52 hours also.

    YOGA way (meditate)
    “play dead” or what yoga call “dead post” which mean…lay down, relax muscle and feel your body heavy like dead people.. sleep and repeat them if you are awake

    EXERCISE intensively (exhaust your body to rest)
    Your body will need sleep after work our in the late afternoon

    MEDICINE (cheat it)
    I took cold medicine a few days in a row till body go back to the same “sleeping body clock”…. last choices though

    remember … not enough sleep or sleep too much will cause problems for your body from WEIGHT GAIN, ACNE

    …. and least of all DON’T WORRY SO MUCH… anxiety keep your brain in high frequency and you won’t be able to sleep
