doing something to pass the time?

holiday patterns
Supermommy!!! asked:

alright i’m 27 weeks and 1 day pregnant and i’ve decided to crochet to pass the time. anyways i have been doing this for years and i always do the double stitch. i’m looking for some other stitches and patterns though. I want to make my son a hat to wear home from the hospital and possibly a sweater or something and maybe a few more blankets anyways does anyone know of some good websites with EASY directions and patterns? i also want to make some things for some other family members for the holidays. i have a few very old books from garage sales and such but i want something that is easier to read. what books can you suggest? i have tons of yarn and time so i’d like lots of ideas. thanks

Not sure about websites with patterns, but I bet if you posted this on another subject thread you may get some better answers. I’m sure you’ll find something. Good luck.

Hey! I have been crocheting for my little girl, i’m thirty weeks. I made a blanket and am working on some hats too. Sorry I don’t have a website for you but I just thought I’d say something since it seems like crocheting or knitting is non-existent these days. Happy stitching. :)

I also crochet and I made my son a blanket too. My grandma taught me how so I don’t even know how to follow a pattern!lol Maybe you could check some websites of the yarn companies. I’m sure they would have a lot of patterns.

I read any kids book I could find an my kids are excellent readers.
Also the books with numbers and colors or even doing a word search puzzle makes your baby a better speller.Everything youread or say aloud they hear.

A website that has great directions is :
It teaches you step by step how to do a bunch of different stiches which are pretty easy to follow already knowing the double stich. I think they might have patterns on that site too, but I usually just go buy patterns from a fabric store. I got a book of patterns that had a bunch of baby blankets in it which were pretty easy to do and lots of fun. Even if you don’t actually buy a pattern from the fabric store, it’s still a great place to look and get ideas. Best of luck.

Hello :) . First of all, I just wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy!

Well, I too like to crochet to pass some time… and since I dont have a job at the moment I have A LOT of extra time lol. Ive made a bunch of baby booties and some hats, and right now im making a baby blanket as a baby shower gift for my pregnant friend. I dont know why I just told you all of that lol, but I just wanted to share that with you I guess.

I actually taught myself how to crochet when I was 15. I came online to learn different stitches and when I had a question (which wasnt very often) I would ask my grandmother for help. Luck for you, I have a ton of sites with easy crochet patterns and different stitches that you can learn, with pictures and everything to show you how to do them.

Have fun making things for your little baby. I know I do.

    Here are the sites:
