Basically, I am making a dress as part of my GCSE project, and i have bought my own pattern although i have altered it slightly. As a result, i am finding it hard to follow the instructions and thus my teacher instructed me to line the pattern pieces onto the fold. However, i am not sure how to do it and i cannot ask her because it is the summer holidays and the prototype it must be completed before the new term begins.

The Tale of My Life

“I am honored to be here tonight, as a guess speaker ,and upholding this award. My name is Eyrk Ryncarz and this is my story.”
There were four of us in the family including Mitzi, our little German Affenpinscher. We were prided Poles and proud Jews. Although we weren’t religious, we were still Jewish and we celebrated every major holiday as any Jewish family would. I began assisting my mother on the household bill when my father died. I dropped out of my studies at the City College and got a job as a baker’s assistant. I made 55 zloty a day. My little sister Jasa was starting middle school then; it seemed only yesterday when I began changing her diapers.

Life was harder then, and even harder now, still, we found ways to keep on living and even ways to have fun. But then everything changed. September 1st, 1939 was a day I will never forget. I can still recall the scent of mother’s famous blueberry that woke me up for work.

That noon, we were attacked by Germans. Fighter planes bombard the town square. Within minutes, Wieluń center was in ruins. In panic, I ran home, still wearing an apron, dusty with flour. My village was virtually “untouched”
“We’ve been bombed, by Germans!” I shouted.
“Wha—what” stuttered mother, who was by then shaking.
Too awed to talked, we started packing in silent. We handed Mitzi to a neighbor who we ere going on a vacation before school started.
For two days we hid under in a abandon church, then the third day we were confronted by German soldiers. I stared them right in the eyes. One of the soldiers took Sarah from my mother’s hand and dragged her to a truck crammed with other children of the same age. Naturally punched him, hard enough that my knuckles became dislocated. The soldier stared back at me with the eyes of a tiger and yelled an order.

“Manschette ihn und bringt ihn in die Viehwaggons”.
Mother was part German, she must have understood. She signaled me to run and slipped a gold ring and an old watch into my pockets.
We ran as fast as we could, but my mother couldn’t keep up. The soldiers opened fire, and my mother froze. The Germans cuffed her, and dragged her to a different truck, but as crowded as the one that had just swallowed Sarah.

As far as I know they went straight to the gas.

A soldier motioned with his rifle for me to get on a truck, but I knocked him down and ran into the woods by the side of the road.
They fired at me but I was soon lost in the trees.

After many days of travel by night and lying low during the day, I came to the border. German soldiers were patrolling, but I timed their patterns and managed to slip across into Switzerland.

I smuggled my way to England, bribing a couple of German man soldiers who felt compassion. Once settled, I joined the RAF. I served as a radio operator in the bombing raids against German strongholds in France.

Sometime later my plane was damaged by antiaircraft fire and we ditched in the English Channel. We were picked up a few hours later by the Valiant, an American battleship. The friendly sailors gave us dry clothes and hot meals. When the Valiant returned to its British base, I rejoined my unit. The British government gave us medals.

             Thank You.
As I finished my story, I’ve notice some students were sleeping, those who were not look bewilder. I’m proud I helped to defeat the Nazis, but I never saw Jasa or my mother again. The story to today still chokes me up. Sometimes I look back and I’m still impressed how far society has risen up in my lifetime. But even more so I was proud of myself for making the world a better place for future generations.

jst meeee! asked:

i want it to end where she sees danladi and chinwe.

Here they are again, here for the next people who have been chosen to go on a radiant holiday of their lives where they stay, well that’s what I got told. The only thing is I found it a little curious that they broke in and didn’t know, but am not that troubled. But what business is it of mine, as long as I have a roof over my head and food to eat it’s not my concern. I lean on the wooden sill of the window and feel the roughness of the cracked paint, betraying the age of the sill that had managed to withstand all these years without care. I poke my head thought the window and watch as the jeep glades into the tangerine sunrise and then finally disappears so like it had never even been there. I so wished I was in that jeep, heading somewhere unknown so which I could leave my concerns on this windowsill.

I wake to the whimpering of people outside, straight away I run to the windowsill. My only friend at the moment as everyone was going, except me. I secretly wait there until I can’t hear or see any movement. I listen out and hear the emptiness of street now that everyone has been chosen to go away. The window was patterned with rain which was lashing so hard against the window, I didn’t know if the strength of the window frame could withheld the fast and furious winds of the storm which was brewing up like a kettle. My scrawny fingers felt a draft come from the smallest ***** in the frame of the window which send a shiver at 100 miles per hour down my spine. Subsequently I suddenly see the faint shadows of people running towards the same jeep that was there the other day, It was hard to see the figures as the window was like looking thought glasses that were smothered in Vaseline. The wipers on the jeep were moving as fast as a cheetah running for its prey then all of a sudden the jeep sped off into the glistening rain.

The noise coming from the TV is just a background sound compared to the ticking coming from the clock on the wall, going on and on and on. I try to fight the temptation of going over to the dark, empty and lifeless house but the temptation takes over me and I have to go over, casually I walk over to see the house where Danladi had once lived before he was picked to go on his “perfect” holiday. Slowly but steadily I walk to the slightly opened front door of Danladi’s house, instantly I smelt the sweet sent of perfume which his wife used to wear. As I walked in I felt like my eyes had tricked me, I see water marks all up the walls and furniture scattered around the room like a lion had been let lose in there knowing that it had to escape some how. But there was one thing that hit me as I saw the old wooden side table crushed on the floor, I remembered the stories when he would talk about his family, especially his grandfather as all of his family had been separated and the only thing he had to know that they were related was his grandfathers watch but as I tugged at the tables draw, there was nothing there. It had been empty, every last thing in there was gone. But was business is it of mine, as long as i have a roof over my head and food to eat it’s not my concern.

As I wake I feel the loneliness of the street hit me like a full on slap on my face. The sun beams shining through the window like nothing had even happened, like there was no rain last night. I needed to get out of this place and find people to talk to. Walking down to the local shops Is a few minutes walk, every step I took were taking longer and longer, suddenly there was a loud sound of engines coming from the long train of jeeps which nearly coursed me to jump out of my skin, as I see them speed into the distance they seem more and more familiar but I just can’t figure it out where I had seen them before.

Usually Chinwe is always there at the counter selling not only the products in her shop but her cheerful smile as everyone loved her, no one had a bad word to say about her, but today she wasn’t there, no one was there. Then at the very second I set my foot inside the shop what seemed like hundreds of hench soldiers with grass coloured uniforms on and shiny black machine guns broke the silence of everybody busily shopping for there groceries they had properly forgotten at the local supermarket. Everybody froze like perfectly made statues which then made their faces turn as white as sheet like they had seen a ghost. Nobody made any sudden movements as they knew what would happen, them shiny black machine guns would most properly get aimed and then shot at them. Suddenly they all started shouting a name which I recognised, it was Chinwe’s name. The door of Chinwe’s office swung open which then consequently made a large noise like thunder as it hit against the wall, next thing I knew Chinwe and two other soldiers walked out of the room heading towards the exit while firmly holding on to the top of her arms, dragging her shoe-less feet against the cold concrete

hi! i’m an italian student. tomorrow i’m going to do an english test.
the test is this:

now departing for the 21st century

as the skies above Europe clog up with planes and road traffic grinds to a standstill, governments are turning to an older form of transport to solve travel problems: trains. trains which bear more resemblance to aeroplanes on rails than to Stephenson’s Rocket.ambitious plans have been drawn up by the European Commission to create a high-speed train network throughout Europe. if it all comes to pass, we will see the dawning of another great railway age.the new era promises to revolutionize mobility in the European Union. by 2020 an entire high-speed network will connect most of the capitals and major cities in Europe. trains will flash along the new rails at speeds approaching 200 mph. ferry companies and airlines will have to struggle to compete with the new trains as journey times shrink, ad cultural, employment and holiday patterns change.few European governments have failed to draw important lessons from the success of the French Train de Grande Vitesse. having seen the future, the Italians and Germans are now racing to catch up with their own high-speed trains and fast tracks.the European Commission is determined to keep pushing. for cultural, economic and personal mobility reasons we feel that the high-speed network will be a major contribution to creating a single market., says a commission spokesman. for short and medium distances, high-speed trains are very efficient. for longer routes aircraft are perfectly adapted, but for journeys of between 200 and 800 km. trains will dominate. they will capture 90% of the market for a journey of two hours.for three hours the train will take a 75% share, if these estimates are accurate, trains will have a serious impact on Europe’s international airline business.

QUESTIONS:
-what are the problems about travelling in Europe at the moment?
-what solution is being planned?
-what effects will this solution have?

answer please!!!!
