At 13 I would think you could sleep a lot! How much caffeine are you drinking? Caffeine stays in your system for up to 8 hours, depending on how much you drink. Also, are you exercising? Are you taking naps? If you’re waking up at 3 a.m. and you’re not going to bed until 11p EVERY day and not taking naps, then I HIGHLY recommend seeing your primary care physician. Are you having bad dreams because you’re bothered by something? Sometimes writing down things that you might think about before bed will help, but do it out of the bedroom. Also, do you have a T.V. in your room? If so, remove it unless it helps you to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Try exercising during the day. That will probably make you tired enough to be able to sleep well.

Don’t resort to sleep medications. You are too young. All pills taken for sleeping are addictive, and have weird side effects like memory loss, physical dependence, and even insomnia, not to mention a plethora of other things.

Once you get on a more regular school schedule, you’ll probably be able to sleep better again. You should try exercising for now though, or at least staying busy all day long instead of sitting around at home.

I suggest counting sheep when you sleep. It works for me!
